KATHMANDU: An intern doctor at Nobel Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar has died after jumping from the hospital building on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Amit Yadav, 34, a resident of Rajbiraj Municipality–9, Saptari.

According to hospital and police sources, Yadav jumped from the fifth floor of the hospital at around 6:30 am.

Yadav had completed his MBBS from Nobel Medical College and was currently serving his internship at the same institution. He was found dead within the hospital premises shortly after the incident.

Police reached the scene immediately after receiving information, carried out initial investigations, and began the required legal procedures.

Authorities said further details regarding the incident will be confirmed following the post-mortem examination, which is underway.

Authorities have assured that all aspects of the incident are being thoroughly examined.
