Insurance Authority of Nepal (IA) takes action against 11 people who appeared for life insurance agent exam

Kathmandu. The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has taken action against about a dozen people who appeared in the life insurance agent examination.

The authority has taken action against 11 candidates for irregularities in the examination. The exams have been canceled.

Ambika Shah of Chireshwornath Municipality in Dhanusha, Gopi Krishna Acharya of Rautbesi in Nuwakot and Amrit Nepali of Tanahun Byas have been expelled from the exams. Shah had appeared for the exam from Himalayan Life Insurance Pvt. Ltd., Acharya Nepal Life Insurance and Surya Jyoti Life Insurance of Nepal.

The meeting also took action against Chhiring Doma Sherpa of Pathibhara, Kanti Kumari Sharma of Lalbandi, Sarlahi and Srijana Sharma of Jaljala, Parbat, for cheating in the examination. All three had appeared for the exam from Sun Nepal Life.

The others facing action are Sandip Tharu of Bhrikuti, Kapilvastu, Ramesh Chandra Dawadi of Dudhpokhari in Lamjung and Ashka Mishra Poudel of Dordi, Lamjung. Tharu Sun Nepal Life Insurance Pvt. Ltd., Dawadi Nepal Life Insurance and Surya Jyoti Life Insurance Ltd. participated in the examination.

The authority also took action against Bibek Bista of Suryabinayak in Bhaktapur and Mandip Subedi of Rupa in Kaski for irregularities in the examination. Both of them had appeared for the exam from Asian Life.

According to the authority, all those who have been taken action have been barred from appearing in the examination for 3 months.
