Khadka elected unopposed as President of PAC
KATHMANDU: Bharat Bahadur Khadka has been unanimously elected as the President of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Federal Parliament.
During a meeting held on Friday, senior member Sitaram Sah declared Khadka elected unopposed after confirming that no other nominations were filed for the post.
Sah stated that only a single proposal was submitted in support of Khadka’s candidacy, which was backed by Mohan Bahadur Acharya.
Following the announcement, Khadka expressed gratitude, saying the PAC is a highly significant parliamentary body that demands accountability and responsibility.
He pledged to utilize his experience and capabilities to effectively carry out his duties.
He emphasized that promoting financial discipline and good governance would be his key priorities during his tenure.
Khadka also stressed the need to prevent past irregularities from recurring and highlighted the importance of broad reforms from the federal to the local level.
Stressing transparency, accountability, and discipline across government bodies, he said the committee would actively work to strengthen these values.
Khadka further remarked that maintaining fiscal discipline and good governance is essential for sustainable national development, adding that he would prioritize creating an environment where citizens can directly experience good governance.
