Acting NIC Chair calls for stronger push on social justice & inclusion
KATHMANDU: Acting Chair of the National Inclusion Commission (NIC), Haridutta Joshi, has said that more efforts are still needed to ensure the participation of all classes and communities in the state structure based on the principles of social justice.
Speaking at a program organized in Lalitpur on Friday to mark National Inclusion Commission Day, Joshi emphasized that social justice and inclusion must be established as the foundation for guaranteeing rights.
He noted that despite progress, problems such as inequality, discrimination, and exclusion continue to persist in matters of social justice.
Joshi acknowledged that although several constitutional commissions have been formed to protect the rights and interests of marginalized regions, communities, and genders, these bodies have yet to play an effective role.
He also pointed out that discussions on “Empowering Inclusion” are taking place at the international level and stressed the need to ensure access to social justice for all segments of society.
