Kathmandu: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song paid a farewell call on Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal at Singha Durbar on December 21, as he is set to conclude his tenure in Nepal.

During the meeting, Chairman Dahal commended Ambassador Song for his role in strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and China. He said the ambassador made significant contributions to deepening ties during his time in Nepal and described him as a true friend of the country. Dahal also informed that various programmes are planned in 2025 to mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal–China diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Song expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation he received throughout his tenure. He mentioned that Nepal is a friendly neighbour of China and said both countries have consistently respected each other’s sensitivities and concerns. He also stated that China is ready to provide necessary assistance for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.
