Kathmandu. Pokhara—Nepal Insurance Professional Society, Pokhara Chapter has concluded its 13th Annual General Meeting and 7th Convention. The convention elected an 11-member working committee under the chairmanship of Chhabi Poudel.

The 11-member executive committee is chaired by Chhabilal Poudel, Gandaki Province Chief of Citizen Life Insurance, Surya Bahadur KC, Shiva Subedi, Ramji Prasad Baral, Suresh Regmi, Shiva Prasad Poudel, Ganesh Dhamala, Govinda Prasad Devkota, Jayishwor Shrestha, Manoj Bharati and Rajesh KC. The AGM unanimously selected the reports of the Secretary and the Treasurer.

Newly-elected president of NIPS Pokhara chapter, Chhabi Poudel, said that NIPS Pokhara Chapter would move ahead by organizing various knowledge and capacity enhancement programs for the capacity of employees and insurance coverage.

The common association of insurance workers established with the objective of exchanging ideas and experiences among the employees working in the insurance sector, organizing hygienic entertainment programs, raising awareness about insurance among the general public and carrying out social responsibility activities has been organized in Pokhara-17.

Chief Guest of the program, Nepal Insurance Authority Gandaki Province Chief Shambhu Prasad Mishra said that the Pokhara Chapter has been playing a significant role among the insurance workers and the Insurance Authority Gandaki Province has been coordinating with the organization and will move forward in collaboration with the development of insurance sector in the coming days, promotion and capacity building of employees.

He also said that they will work hand in hand in building quality businesses and skilled employees.

Similarly, insurance expert and Chairman of Nirma Nepal, Dr. Prof. Rabindra Ghimire said that it is the responsibility of the insurance employees to provide quality service and sell the insurance as per the capacity of the customers by paying the insurance well.

The program was presided over by NISHA Pokhara Chapter Chairman Badri Nath Poudel and former presidents of NIPS Pokhara, Kabiraj Poudel, Deepak Raj Tiwari and advisor Hari Prasad Shrestha.

On the occasion, Nisha Gandaki Province Coordinator of Nepal Surveyor Association, Buddhi Raj Adhikari and other speakers praised the role played by NIPS Pokhara Chapter.

Election Commissioner Dipak Raj Tiwari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected members of the election committee. Employees working in life, non-life and micro insurance companies of Pokhara area were also present in the program.
