Actress Niti Shah marries Yachnit Rana in traditional ceremony

Kathmandu, February 20
Nearly a year after legally registering their marriage, actress Niti Shah tied the knot with Yachnit Rana, an aerospace engineer, in a traditional religious ceremony on Friday. The wedding was held at the Plaza Hotel, Lalitpur, with family, relatives, and celebrities in attendance.
Shah and Rana have been in a two-year-long relationship, which the actress has now formalised into marital life. In recent days, the couple has been attending multiple pre-wedding and wedding-related events.
Fashion designer Manish Rai created Shah’s bridal attire. Known for designing outfits for Miss Nepal winners and other celebrities, Rai designed an elegant, deep red bridal lehenga for Niti, symbolising prosperity and marital happiness.
The lehenga featured golden embroidery along the borders, giving it a royal look. Rana wore a traditional white outfit consisting of an embroidered sherwani with a dhoti or suruwal, complemented by a subtle border design and a traditional Nepali topi.

The newlyweds are set to host a grand reception for friends and celebrities on Sunday at the Tribhuvan Army Officers’ Club in Bhadrakali. Earlier, Shah had announced that her wedding would be celebrated across three venues — the main ceremony at Plaza Hotel, a music and cocktail party at Darbarmarg, and the reception at the Army Officers’ Club. Performances at the pre-wedding events included fellow Miss Nepal contestants and celebrities like Paul Shah and Benisha Hamal.
Shah, who began her career as a model, won the Miss Nepal International 2017 title and made her film debut with Khajure Bro. Her films Narsingha Avatar and Mohar were released this year, with Mohar achieving box office success. Post-wedding, she will begin work on the feature film Maya Bhanechai Yesto Hola, directed by Rekha Thapa.
