KATHMANDU: Opposition parties, including CPN-UML and the Nepal Communist Party, have decided to support the Nepali Congress candidate for the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee.

The decision was reached during a meeting held in Singha Durbar, according to lawmaker Yug Raj Dulal of the Nepal Communist Party.

Leaders said a consensus was built among opposition parties to back the Congress nominee as the nomination process for parliamentary committee chairs begins today.
