KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has initiated discussions with political parties and citizen representatives at Singha Durbar regarding preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives election.

The talks focus on the election scheduled for Falgun 21 (March 5), with the Election Commission set to present its briefing.

The meeting includes Prime Minister Karki, ministers of the interim government, local leaders of major political parties, and Election Commission officials.

While the two main parties, CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress, continue to demand the reinstatement of Parliament, some Gen Z groups are advocating for a consensus-based interim government before holding elections.

The government has convened these discussions in response to such demands and ongoing public agitation
