Kathmandu: The Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou successfully hosted a tourism promotion event, “Explore Nepal: Adventure, Spirituality and Natural Beauty,” on December 19, at the Grand Hotel Haikou. The event was part of the ongoing China International Travel Mart (CITM) 2025 and aimed to strengthen tourism ties between Nepal and China.

Consul General Bharat Khanal welcomed the guests, highlighting the long-standing friendship between Nepal and China and inviting Chinese tourists and travel partners to explore Nepal’s unique attractions. The audience was treated to a “Cinematic Journey Through the Himalayas,” showcasing the country’s majestic mountains and serene landscapes.

Mai Weiwen, President of the Haikou Travel Agencies Association, expressed optimism for collaboration between Hainan and Nepal’s travel industries. The program also featured traditional Nepali dance performances and a detailed tourism presentation by Archana K.C. Rana, Senior Manager of the Nepal Tourism Board.

A B2B Meeting and Matchmaking session allowed Nepali and Hainan-based travel professionals to discuss future partnerships and tailored tour packages. The event concluded with a Networking Dinner, fostering stronger tourism connections.

Around 80 participants, including government officials, travel trade representatives, members of the Nepali diaspora, and media personnel, attended the event. It highlighted Nepal’s potential as a premier travel destination and strengthened pathways for cooperation with Hainan’s tourism market.
