Four held with Rhino horn in Sunsari
KATHMANDU: Security forces arrested four individuals on Thursday night in Barju Rural Municipality–6, Sunsari after seizing a rhinoceros horn, officials said.
Acting on a confidential tip-off, a team from the Armed Police Force Nepal, No. 1 Baraha Battalion, Pakali, intercepted the suspects near the Taal area of Barju–6, according to Armed Police Force Superintendent Shyam Karki of No. 4 Battalion, Sunsari.
The suspects were reportedly transporting the horn from Jhapa when they were caught, Karki added.
Authorities also recovered two motorcycles from the scene.
Police have withheld the identities of those arrested, stating that the case appears linked to a larger wildlife trafficking network and is currently under investigation.
