KATHMANDU: People from the Sherpa community have been celebrating Gyalpo Lhosar with much fanfare by organizing various programs today.

The Sherpa community has been celebrating this festival every year on Shukla Pratipada, which is the Nepali month of Falgun.

Gyalpo Lhosar marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year.

This new year marked by the people from the Sherpa community is celebrated for almost two weeks.
