Foreign Ministry Holds Virtual Interaction with Missions in Asia and Pacific, Stresses Good Governance and Economic Diplomacy

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised a virtual interaction programme with Nepali diplomatic missions based in South Asia, North-East Asia, South-East Asia, and the Pacific, focusing on strengthening service delivery and advancing economic diplomacy.
Delivering the opening remarks, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai underscored two major priorities of the Government: promoting good governance, including technology-based service delivery, and advancing effective economic diplomacy. He highlighted the need for missions to support these priorities through proactive engagement and improved coordination.


During the interaction, Ambassadors, Consuls General, and Chargés d’Affaires shared updates on Nepal’s engagement with their respective host countries and agencies. They also discussed opportunities for enhanced collaboration and cooperation, while briefing on the status of service delivery provided by the missions.


Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal emphasised the Government’s core priorities of ensuring good governance through improved service delivery and contributing to the country’s economic prosperity through strengthened economic diplomacy. He instructed the missions to align their efforts with these priorities and further enhance service delivery through innovation and digitalisation.
The programme was conducted by Joint Secretary Bhrigu Dhungana, Head of the North-East Asia Division at the Ministry.
