CC Camera installation begins in Bharatpur

CHITWAN: Bharatpur Metropolitan City (BMC) has launched the installation of CC cameras in more than 200 spots across the city.

Mayor Renu Dahal inaugurated the installation amidst a function today.

The CC Camera is fixed with collaboration of Nepal Telecom and the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Major intersections of ward no 29 have got the close monitoring cameras.

Senior divisional engineer at BMC, Santosh Acharya, informed that there would be 418 CC cameras fixed with electric poles in all 29 wards.

The cameras are equipped with automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) features.

The equipment cost Rs 55.8 million. These are provided by CNG IT Solutions.

Mayor Dahal said the CC Cameras would help in the campaign of building Bharatpur as a modern city. “They are beneficial to ensure safety to the people. The vision of safe city has been materialized with the fixing of modern inspection cameras,” she added.

BMC has also forwarded putting on smart street lights along 206-km stretch. Currently, the high mast lights are illuminating 91 intersections.

The control room of the CC Cameras will be at District Police Office.

On the occasion, Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhiarki claimed the modern facility would help curbing untoward incidents with close monitoring of public spaces.

It provides safe atmosphere to the people, he added.

The utilities are fixed through the fibre system of Nepal Telecom.
