KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the murders of Keshavraj Hayu and 21-year-old Paruhang Rai.

On Dec 17, a body packed in a sack was discovered in a well in Mahalaxmi Municipality–8, Lalitpur.

Police later identified the victim as Keshavraj Hayu, a resident of Golanzor Rural Municipality–3, Sindhuli.

During the investigation, authorities found that another individual, Paruhang Rai from Bhojpur, had also been murdered.

His body was recovered today from a forest in Suryabinayak–7, located on the border of Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

Initially, police had arrested Devaraj Dhungel, who, during questioning, revealed the involvement of Jayraj Adhikari.

Following this lead, Jayraj was arrested in Sindhuli.

He admitted to killing Paruhang Rai, leading police to recover the body from the reported location.

According to Devaraj Dhungel and Jayraj Adhikari, Hayu was killed on Dec 10, and Paruhang was murdered the following day, Dec 11.

SSP Ramesh Basnet of the Crime Investigation Department confirmed that further investigations are ongoing.
