KATHMANDU: Punjab Kings delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in the Indian Premier League match at Wankhede Stadium.

Chasing a challenging target of 196, Punjab Kings reached 198/3 in just 16.3 overs with an aggressive batting display.

Earlier, Mumbai posted 195/6 in 20 overs, powered by an unbeaten century from Quinton de Kock, who smashed 112 runs off 60 balls, including 8 fours and 6 sixes.

Naman Dhir contributed a steady 50, but lack of support from other batters prevented Mumbai from crossing the 200-mark. Captain Hardik Pandya managed only 14 runs.

In reply, Punjab’s batting lineup dominated from the start. Prabhsimran Singh led the charge with an unbeaten 80 off 39 balls, while skipper Shreyas Iyer added a quickfire 66. Their partnership dismantled Mumbai’s bowling attack and ensured a comfortable chase.

Lower-order contributions from Priyansh Arya (15), Kopper Kohnal (17), and Marcus Stoinis (10*) sealed the win.

With the ball, Arshdeep Singh starred for Punjab, picking up three crucial wickets and putting Mumbai under early pressure.

Despite De Kock’s brilliant century, Mumbai Indians slumped to their fourth consecutive defeat, while Punjab Kings remained unbeaten and climbed to the top of the IPL points table.
